Why are so many popular shows all crammed onto Monday nights?

It seems Mondays are always hard to catch shows because so many good
ones are that night. Considering the viewers that Monday night
football and WWE Raw generate, why don't networks put their big shows
on other nights, or do late night repeats? Between my wife and I, we
miss a lot of shows that we would like to DVR.
